I never heard this song until… you know who!!. When she sang I was moved beyond belief. No matter who sings this song, no matter how powerful the interpretation, I will always remember silencing at work numerous times feeling the agony of truth. His love did not exist ever.

I believe this is where Anne Hathaway got her inspiration to sing the song. Absolutely beautiful tragic and perfect in every way this is the best version.

Her voice was superb. In fact all the voices in that 10th Anniversary concert were sublime, so different from that fiasco of a film. Singers who can act are a thousand times better than actors who can NOT sing.

She certainly deserved the standing ovation which I'm sure she got for this. It's July 2024 and my wife and I are going to see Les Mis in London in September to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary - can't believe 2025 will mark the 40th anniversary of Les Mis!!
